The standard Jazzbass control configuration is Volume, Volume Tone (VVT)
The V12B tone control gives your bass an enormous range of extra sounds.
In 11 steps decreasing the high tones and adding mids without the sound losing definition.
This tone control really opens up the sound of a (Jazz)bass because it eliminates the ever present tone sucking of the conventional tone pot which are never completely turned off.
