This is a resistive power attenuator based on a famous and popular design.
It lets you enjoy the marvelous sounds of power tube saturation without all the dissatisfaction of high decibel levels.

The power attenuator has six steps.
First is bypass
Second to fifth lower the volume of the speaker (not of the amp)
The last step engages a rheostat which can bring down your level to suit a living or bedroom.

The power attenuators have a direct output (unbalanced) which can be plugged straight into a mixing console for recording or PA amplification.

The power attenuator is placed between the tube amplifier and the speaker.
The speaker impedance should match the amp's just like when the speaker is connected directly to the amp.

There are two versions one for amps up to 100 Watts and a smaller version which can handle amps up to 50 Watts.
